Lucie Huiskens
Lucie Huiskens (1958) studied Dutch language and literature. Following a few years working at the universities of Nijmegen and Tilburg, she began, in 1987, as an interaction designer at Océ R&D (Venlo). In 1993, she became manager of the Industrial Design department. At the start of 1999, she left Océ for the position of director of Vroom Consultancy and Implementation of Human Resources systems and worked on projects concerned with redesigning P&O processes. She joined the Premsela foundation at its start in august 2002 as manager economic development. She organised research projects into the impact of design on the Dutch Economy, and projects dealing with the relation design and innovation: both innovation in design (e.g. a project Artificial Design) and innovation by design (increasing the awareness of the potential role of design in industry).
She is member of the program committee Material Design, that aims to build networks among designers and material development engineers, and is member of the Board of Advise of the the faculty of Industrial Design of the TU Delft. Since january Lucie is deputy director of the Premsela foundation (www.premsela.org).
